Speaker Test Guide: How to Benchmark Audio Frequency Response
Whether you just purchased a new smartphone, dried your phone after a water spill, or completed a cleaning routine, performing an objective speaker test is the best way to verify audio performance. Standard audio playback (like a YouTube video) is not a good diagnostic tool because the sound is mixed and dynamically compressed. To truly test a speaker's capabilities, you must run specific frequency test signals that sweep from deep bass to high-frequency thresholds.

1. Stereo Separation & Phase Alignment Test
Most modern smartphones feature a dual stereo speaker configuration (using the bottom primary driver and the top earpiece receiver). Play a stereo separation audio test. The sound should pan distinctly from left to right. If the sound remains centered or thin, your speakers may have a phase alignment issue, where the positive and negative terminals are inverted on one speaker, causing sound waves to cancel each other out.
